artist bio

Julien Tang is a Taiwanese visual artist whose practice integrates contemporary sculpture with performative video, focusing on material contingency and the mechanical instability of ceramics. After earning an MFA in Ceramic Art from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (2024), Tang completed an institutional residency at the University of North Dakota (2025).

Her work has been exhibited at international institutions across Asia, Europe, and North America. Accolades include a solo exhibition at Art Taipei (2024) awarded through a young artist program, and being named a Finalist for the 2024 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale. Additional recognition includes an Honorable Mention at the Taiwan Golden Ceramics Award (2026), the Second Award at the Concurs Internacional de Ceràmica de l’Alcora, Spain (2022), and inclusion in the International Portrait Competition (2022).
